Ragaciems border guard base

The Soviet border guard settled in Ragaciems in the mid-1960s, but left the place in 1991. Around 50 military personnel worked at the site. The visitors and the military lived very well, held joint events, took part in various celebrations and the relations were normal. The only thing that worried Ragaciems residents was the radar placed at the base, with the existence of which various absences were connected. It is interesting that in the army part the bear "stuck", which was kept captive here and kept until the departure of the army. In 1991, the missiles were dismantled and taken in an unknown direction.
